As a Certified Sex Therapist, I am qualified to work with a variety of issues and topics:
My Philosophy
We live in a culture that constantly sends us unhelpful, shaming and unrealistic messages about sex. As a result, it is common for people to struggle to cope when encountering a sexual problem. Many people don't know how to talk to their partners about sexual pleasure or sexual concerns, which can make it challenging to experience a mutually pleasurable sex life. I believe that sexual pleasure is a natural and beautiful part of the human existence, so I strive to help all my clients achieve what I call "sexual health". This will look different for every person and every relationship, because everyone's values and interests are unique. My goal is to help you find YOUR normal! I work with clients of all different sexual orientations, relationship orientations, and sexual interests.
What is Sex Therapy?
Sex therapy is just regular ol' talk-therapy, but I often will give you homework assignments for you to complete in between sessions. Depending on what you are seeking help with, there may be some education & resources provided, mindfulness activities, and exploration of the messages that you received about sex growing up. If you are in a relationship and are seeking sex therapy, we can talk about whether it makes more sense to pursue therapy as a couple rather than individual treatment. If you are not in a relationship but would like help with a sexual issue, sex therapy is for you, too!
